Fingerprints
Latent fingerprints
Fingerprints are one the most common ways to identify suspects as criminals. Latent Fingerprints are taken at a police station either from a suspect or from people under arrest. The person taking the prints will have the person dip their finger in ink and gently press it against a card.
HOW TO IDENTIFY FINGERPRINTS
Usually fingerprints are processed through a computer that can match all the minutia (patterns found on fingerprint), however when identifying with the naked eye you must find 10-15 similar characteristics in order to positively identify the fingerprint. The first thing to look for is the Ridge Pattern that is the middle of the finger. There are three different types, Arch, Loop, and Whorl the names explain how they look. After identifying the ridge pattern you move onto the minutia. There are several different minutia, these are commonly known ones. Bifurcation, Ridge Ending, and Dot.

Alex Garcia's fingerprints were found at the crime scene. I say this because ten minutia of the Crime scene fingerprint match with Alex Garcia's fingerprint.
